In order to bend plates, round and square bars, as well as other metal products at home, you can make a simple fixture from improvised materials.
For this homemade product you will need:
- a piece of steel disc with a hole in the center;
- a piece of ordinary water pipe;
- two pieces of steel round timber to be used as stops;
- round base (disk) cut out of sheet metal.
The main stages of work
First of all, we cut out a circle of suitable diameter from a sheet of metal 3-4 mm thick, which will be used as the base of the bending device. At the edges we drill four holes for bolts for fastening to a table or workbench.
Then, two pieces of steel round timber are welded to the base (at a certain distance from each other - it depends on the thickness of the workpiece). Also, you need to weld a piece of pipe to the disk, on which a steel blank with a hole (sleeve) will be worn.
After that, a long handle made of a piece of steel bar of circular cross section is welded to the sleeve itself. A reinforcement from a piece of strip must be welded to the handle. At the next stage of work, we clean the places of welds with a grinder with a stripping disk and fix the home-made bending machine to the table surface using bolts with nuts.
