The factory-made manual vise-clamp does not always cope with its duties - sometimes it is a factory defect, sometimes the reason is the imperfection of the design itself. But you do not need to throw out such an instrument, because it can be altered to fit your needs. Believe me, it will come out much cheaper, but it will turn out more reliable.
Preparatory work
First you need to cut off the clamping elements from a manual vice - instead, they will use a more advanced gripper design that works flawlessly.
From two segments of the steel square, you need to weld a plate, which you then need to clean well with a grinder and weld vertically to the upper working part of the vise-clamp.
It is necessary to make a simple U-shaped part bent at a small angle from a steel bar of circular cross-section. It then needs to be welded to another home-made element that will be attached to the upright, providing up-and-down movement.
Assembly assembly
A long U-shaped metal plate must be welded horizontally to the bottom of the manual vise-clamp, and then a flat plate should be welded to it for better clamping. Actually, on this assembly of the homemade tool can be considered completed.
Outwardly, it does not look very aesthetically pleasing, but it’s not talking about the beauty of speech. The main thing is that such a vice-clamp provides a reliable clamping of products of any shape and size.
