At the banquet table (for example, for an anniversary or a wedding) everything should look perfect and solemn - this rule also applies to glass bottles of wine. So that they perfectly harmonize with the festive atmosphere in the room, as well as the table setting, you can clog them with beautiful handmade corks. This composition looks very original. Of the basic materials for the manufacture of decorative cork, you will need a wooden cube and a piece of cork wood.
The main stages of work
We squeeze a square blank of oak in a lathe and align the end surface with a cutter to which you need to glue a round "blank" of cork wood. We clamp the glued workpiece from two sides and give it the desired shape. The result should be a decorative cork having a spherical shape in the upper part.
Around the middle of the cork we make a small groove for a strip of reinforced plastic, which we fix with superglue. Next, we give the cork a beautiful appearance. To do this, first grind the surface with fine sandpaper, then cover with mineral oil and polish to a shine.
At the last stage, we attach the cork to the brass cone, which will be inserted into the bottle - the sealing gum can be removed from the factory.
