Magnetic holder for the welding "gun"

Sometimes in the process of welding a holder carelessly laid on the table can fall to the floor (especially if everything is done in a hurry), as a result of which it can simply fail.

Ordinary holders for long electrodes (tridents, "clothespins" and others) may not be anything, but welding "guns" that are designed for electric arc and argon semi-automatic welding are very sensitive to such drops.

To solve this problem, it is enough to make a simple holder that will be attached to the surface of a metal workbench with a magnet - it can be removed from the old speaker. In addition to the round magnet, you will need two pieces of tube of different diameters, as well as a bolt with a nut.

The main stages of work

First of all, it is necessary to cut a piece of steel pipe with a grinder, suitable for the diameter of the nozzle of the welding "gun". You will also need a small segment of a tube of a smaller diameter, at the end of which you need to weld a nut.

A small tube is cut at an angle of 45 degrees and is welded to the holder itself. Then we drill a hole in the metal cover of the magnet, insert the stand tube and fix it with a bolt.

At the last stage of work, we clean the surface of the stand with a grinder and paint it well. The result is a simple and convenient magnetic holder for the welding “gun”, which can be installed anywhere on the desktop. How to make such a stand for the holder, see the video on the site.
