For sawing wooden blanks (boards, plywood, etc.) in the longitudinal and transverse directions, it is possible to make a sawing machine based on a manual circular saw.
As the base of a homemade machine, a sheet of rectangular plywood 20 mm thick is used. The width and length of the sheet can be different, depending on what size of the workpiece you will be sawing.
First of all, the master cuts off a piece of suitable size from a sheet of plywood. Then he saws off two pieces from the board, after which he drills two holes in them with a diameter of 25 mm.
The blanks are mounted vertically at the edges of the plywood sheet. They insert guides for the movable carriage, on which the circular saw will be located.
The main stages of work
Then the master saws off four wooden blanks of a square shape, in the center of which he drills holes with a diameter of 40 mm. They will then need to press in linear bearings.
At the next stage, the author fastens all four blanks with bearings to a piece of plywood, on which a circular saw will be mounted. Next, the carriage along with the guides must be fixed on the base.
After that, a circular saw is installed, and stops for workpieces are attached. For details on how to make a wood sawing machine from a hand-held circular saw, see the video on our website.
