Do you need to use a hand milling cutter to cut a circle in plywood or a wooden shield? To do this, you can use a simple but very useful device that is easy to make with your own hands.
For this homemade product you will need a bar with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of about 40-50 cm, two elongated nuts, ordinary nuts and pieces of angle.
The first thing you need to polish the bar. Two bushings of elongated nuts are put on it. First, in the nuts, drill a hole with an 8 mm drill.
The main stages of work
Next, drill holes in the elongated nuts, and then weld the usual M6 nuts to them. Fixing bolts will be screwed into them. A piece of angle is welded to one of the elongated nuts.
This device is screwed to the base of the manual router, and acts as a guide for cutting circles of different diameters.
If necessary, the metal bar can be replaced with a longer one - that is why the author made the design collapsible.
After screwing the device to the mill body, we screw it to the workpiece itself. Set the desired radius, and cut out a circle. Simple, fast, convenient and safe.
