Each grinder has a lock button (or lock button), which, when pressed, blocks the rotation of the planetary gear. This allows you to easily change equipment.
But sometimes it happens that the lock button fails. What to do in this case? Carry tools to a service center? Yes, that’s a good option. But what if the service center is far or not working?
In this review, the author shows how you yourself can make a new lock button for angle grinders. And believe me, this procedure will not take you much time.
The main stages of work
First of all, it will be necessary to disassemble the gear housing of the grinder. Surely, there the grease has already dried - a good reason to update it.
We turn off the gear case from the grinder body, and inside it will be necessary to clean everything thoroughly, removing the old grease and dirt.
Next, we select a suitable bolt with a cap for a hexagon in diameter and length. A hole will need to be drilled at the bottom of the bolt.
After that, we put a piece of spring on the bolt, insert it into the hole in the grinder gear housing, where there was a lock button, and fix it from the inside with wire, threading it into the hole drilled in the bolt leg.
At the last stage, apply a new lubricant, and collect everything in reverse order. The homemade lock button on the grinder is ready.
