If the external rearview mirror, which is located on the car door, breaks off, then you can use one of the proven and effective ways to restore the plastic fastening with your own hands.
The first step is to remove and disassemble the car mirror - we leave only those parts that will need to be restored.
Before proceeding directly to the repair, you need to clean the parts from dust, and then thoroughly degrease.
It is not possible to simply glue together two parts, since the glued surface is small and, accordingly, the connection will turn out to be fragile.
The main stages of work
For reliable connection of two plastic parts, the author uses self-tapping screws and fiberglass thread from a communication cable.
To install the screws, in both parts it will be necessary to drill holes. Moreover, you need to drill in the thickest parts of the part.
In one hole, the author inserts a self-tapping screw, having previously bent it a little. Into another hole are pressed fiberglass threads.
Then two parts are joined together on an epoxy, including reinforcing elements. Using a drill, the author cleans the footprint of smudges of epoxy glue.
Now the part has been restored and you can begin to assemble and install the car mirror.
