In this review, the author shows the process of making a homemade jack press for a home workshop.
The press is designed for specific tasks, namely, for working with wood. The design itself is very simple. If interested, read on.
As the side racks of the press, the author uses two pieces of a channel of 120 mm.
To the bottom of the racks, the author welds a profile pipe 100 * 100 mm with a wall thickness of 8 mm.
The movable part of the jack press is also made of professional pipe 100 * 100 mm. At the edges, the master welds pieces of the corner.
The main stages of work
In the upper part of the racks, the master welds two profile pipes 60 * 40 mm with a wall thickness of 3 mm. It will also be necessary to weld the gain.
At the next stage, the author welds a platform of profile sections 60 * 40 mm to the upper part of the press structure.
Then the same area must be welded to the moving part of the press. The author uses profile sections 35 cm long.
From a square piece of metal with a thickness of 13 mm and a piece of pipe with a diameter of 50 mm makes a workpiece that will be worn on a jack.
This workpiece must be welded to the movable part of the press (in the central part).
At the last stage, we check the operability of the entire structure, we clean the metal and paint.
