For cutting round pipes of different diameters, the master proposes to make and use in the future a home-made universal pipe cutter from a grinder.
Of course, it will be easier for someone to cut the pipe evenly and without this method. But for beginners who still do not know how to properly handle angle grinders, this homemade product can come in handy.
For the manufacture of a universal pipe cutter, the author uses an angle of 50 * 50 mm, four bearings 201, four bearings 6000, a piece of stud M12 and a piece of stud M10.
Also, in the manufacturing process of homemade, some other materials may be required.
The main stages of work
First of all, from a building corner of 50x50 mm, it is necessary to cut off a workpiece with a length of 300 mm.
Further along the edges of the corner, the author cuts out the “windows” so that bearings can be installed later.
Two pieces of 28 cm long will need to be cut from the M12 stud. The author puts on bearings on them. Then the studs need to be welded to the corner.
From the profile pipe 50x30 mm, the author cuts a piece of the desired length, and also welds it to the corner. As the base, a piece of sheet metal with a thickness of 4 mm is used.
A corner will be attached to the metal plate, as well as a pendulum for the grinder based on case bearings.
You will also need to make a mount for the grinder. To do this, you can use improvised materials.
Using a profile pipe 25 * 25 mm, the author connects the mounting of the grinder with a pendulum.
The final part of the work
At the last stage, it remains to cut off another piece of the corner, which will fix the pipe during its cutting.
In the blank, it will also be necessary to cut out “windows” in order to install 6000 bearings in them.
Then, from the sections of the profile pipe, the master makes a simple clamp, which will press the corner to the workpiece.
After welding, we clean all the seams, and the homemade product is ready for use.
