Before starting work, you need to determine the size of the cap by measuring the circumference of your child’s head for this.
1. We collect a chain of air loops, close it in a ring;
2. Next, we knit according to the scheme.
1 row: we knit a chain of air loops with double crochets (they will turn out 5-8 depending on the thickness of the yarn);
2 row: in each column of the previous row we knit 2 crochet columns.
In each subsequent row we gradually reduce the number of applications until the desired bottom diameter of the cap is reached.
Knowing the circumference of the child’s head or his age, you can easily determine the diameter of the product’s day from the table;
3. After that, it is necessary to knit without additions: each column of the previous row corresponds to a column of a new row;
4. Using the same table, you can determine what depth of the cap is needed in your case.
The hat can be made straight or ears can be tied on it. They can be just decorative, or they can be voluminous, created specifically for warming a knitted product. For the manufacture of ears, you should mark their locations with bright threads (after knitting, remove bright threads). And gradually reduce the number of loops when knitting rows.
There are two ways to reduce the number of loops: systematically skip one of the loops of the previous row, or combine the last two loops of each row.
The cap can be additionally insulated. For example, sew small fleece linings in your ears, or make a solid lining, as I did in one of the hats. This is a very soft material, which is perfect for children's products.
You can decorate the finished product in a huge number of ways. In this case, I made animal hats.
For the final image of the panda, you need to make black ears and eye contours. Knit them should be according to the scheme,
Only use not double crochets, but single crochet. Knit the nose as well as the ears, gradually reducing the number of loops in a row. Sew everything carefully to the cap. Buttons or pre-made eyes can be used for the eyes themselves.
For the image of a cat, flowers with beads were additionally made and antennae were embroidered.
A muzzle was connected to the mouse. In order for the image to be more effective, I inserted a small amount of fleece between the circle created for the muzzle and the hat.
Multi-colored braids or plaits became a great idea for ties. From the remaining yarn, you should cut the threads of the same length, thread them between the columns in the area of the ears and weave a pigtail or braid.
Such a handmade hat will definitely become your kid’s favorite thing.
