To make a kitchen towel in the form of a doll, the following materials will be required:
- Waffle towel with an interesting color or original pattern.
- Fabric of various colors, preferably chintz.
- Scissors, threads, needles, pencil.
- Sewing machine, if you do not have the skills to sew on a sewing machine, you can make a craft manually, but it will take more time.
- Old soft, unnecessary, rag doll.
We begin to make towel dolls for the kitchen.
The towel consists of a doll on which the dress is worn, the upper part of the dress is the bodice, a part sewn from chintz fabric, and the lower part is the hem, this is a waffle towel cut in half.
First you need to make a pattern. The pattern is presented, you only need to reduce or enlarge to the size you need. The pattern is simple, a cut for the head, on the sides of the tape, or some other way of fixing the towel. We will need two such details, or you can also circle an already finished pattern on a piece of fabric folded in half.
We prepare the pattern and flash it on a typewriter or manually. We sew the edges of the part, but we do not sew them together.
We process the cutout for the head, also sheathed on a typewriter.
On the reverse side, so our doll has a very large head and they do not crawl into the usual cut. We make a cut on the back. We twist its edges and hem.
Cut the waffle towel into two pieces of equal size. Then we assemble the top edge of each piece, it is most convenient to do it manually.
Next, with the help of a needle and thread, we “bait” the hem of the dress on the bodice of the dress. even after assembling the upper edge of the towel, the width is larger than the bodice of the dress. Then flash it on a typewriter.
Try on a doll. The dress is almost ready. The hem of the dress is not sewn together so that it is more convenient to wipe the hand.
The last detail remains. The edges of the dress still need to somehow hold together. To do this, you can sew ribbons or pieces of fabric of the same color on the sides. Or, as in our case, cut from a fabric of the same color, two pieces of an approximate size of 5 by 9 centimeters, hem the edges on a typewriter, and then sew on the bodice of the dress.
Be sure not to forget to sew a loop to the doll's body so that it can be hung on a hook.
The doll towel is ready for the kitchen. You can sew several of these dresses and change them regularly. This craft will be an original and pleasant gift for a housewarming party or any other occasion.
