Pillows allow you to experiment with fabrics in various styles, different types and patterns. For the manufacture of pillows, you can apply the remaining flaps that have not found application. Such pillows will complement the interior, serve as decoration, create amenities.
To make a pillow you need:
- fabric, two shades. It is not necessary to use fabric of the same composition. You can use, for example, 1-velvet fabric (medium thickness) and 2-satin fabric, contrasting color, or fabric of the same composition, but different colors.
- thread floss, for embroidery.
Preparation of parts.
Before you start cutting pillows, it is worth seeing which pillow is more suitable for the interior.
Than it is good to sew a pillow with your own hands, that it can be sewn for every taste and color.
The following example describes the sewing of pillows, square-shaped ... The size of the pillows can be absolutely any, but do not make them very large, they will look ridiculous.
Cut out the details.
First, the front and back parts of the pillow are cut. For such a pillow, a square is cut from the selected fabric of the desired size (in the example, it is a square with sides of 40 cm), but do not forget about the supply of fabric in order to process the edges. If the edges will be processed overlog, then you can leave a minimum clearance of fabric (0.5 cm).
Then a second square is cut out of a fabric of contrasting color, but with a smaller size. The size of the square depends on the size of the selected application. In the given example: a square of 25? 25 cm.
Next, you need to cut out such a detail from fabric, the main color, size 15x15 cm.
After the parts are prepared, you can begin to stitch them. You need to take a smaller square and sew it to part A. You should get a full square, like the one that is cut out as a whole. It’s not worth stitching two squares, first you need to decorate the resulting part.
Decoration details.
For decoration, you can use a frill, or make a fringing of contrasting fabric, apply bassin trim, decorate with the help of a border-roller. Lace trim around the edges will make the pillow more feminine, especially if fabric with flowers is used to sew it. This pillow is perfect for the bedroom.
The rim can be made narrow or wide and free. Such a pillow is suitable for armchairs.
Any frill looks very good on any fabric.
- A strip of fabric is cut out, folded in half, the front side inside and stitched along the edge. Then the strip is turned on the front side.
-After the strip is attached and sewn along the edge of a small square. It turns out the edging.
-After the edging is ready, it is worth starting embroidery. The pattern can be any one to choose from. The pattern is applied to the fabric and embroidered with floss thread.
If there is no desire to waste time, then you can purchase ready-made applications, and just sew them.
Assembly of parts.
When the decoration is ready, you can stitch the details. Fold the back and front parts together facing each other and stitch them on three sides. Do not completely flush the last side so that you can insert filler. After the filler is ready, hide the edges inside and flash.
Stuffing.
For soft stuffing, use a mixture of feather and fluff. You can also use a synthetic winterizer. The pillow should be stuffed tight.
For those who prefer hard pillows, a foam plastic wrapped in a dense synthetic winterizer is well suited.
Also, the packing can be mixed: from fiber and feather. This type of packing is inexpensive and more affordable.
Note:
- If you use fluff and feather, it is better to sew another square of dense fabric inside, then in the future, fluff and the feather will not penetrate the fabric.
-You can also sew on a zipper, for convenience.
